Travel Ideas, Advice and Photography...in the time of Covid
...and beyond
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”
― Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad / Roughing It
Welcome! And thanks for stopping by. Now "mask up", make sure your lens cap is off and be sure to stay at least 6 feet away from everyone and everything!
In these pages there is a lot of information that I hope you find helpful in your own travels. I enjoy writing and taking pictures so this is a sort of diary for me of my travels but also a way for others to understand me and share in my experiences.
We are unique, here in America, in that you can travel 3000 miles across this country without changing currency or having to learn a new language. We are a country of diversity and many different cultures and traditions but we are all American. I meet people all the time that live near major landmarks that have never taken the time to visit. For years, before I was born, my parents lived in San Jose across the street from the Winchester Mystery House and never went. I consider myself blessed that I've had the opportunity to visit so many wonderful places...and the Mystery House twice.
I hope that if you see something on my posts that interests you or looks cool, it will encourage you to take advantage of what's around you. Most of my posts are places within driving distance, because during this uncertain time, I'm still not excited about flying with a mask on.

I have been a professional photographer and photography teacher for over 20 years shooting landscapes, portraits, events, and video. Whenever I travel I take on average 100 pics/day just for my personal use. Sometimes these pics come in handy as examples in my classes. Nearly all the pics on this site are taken by me personally and are also for sale on my professional photography page.
